a 2 minute read…
Did you know as a Veteran or Surviving Spouse you may be eligible to receive between $1,149 and $2,120 per month of home care service benefits with zero cost to you!
If there’s a group of citizens that deserve every ounce of help, respect, and care from our Government and other citizens, it’s our Service men and women.
The healthcare system is riddled with programs and services many people simply don’t know about. This particular service has NO OUT OF POCKET COSTS to Veterans and their spouses, and is funded 100% by the US Government.
This particular program is designed around the V.A’s Aid and Attendance pension available to many U.S wartime veterans and surviving spouses since 1958.
As every program available out there, there’s an eligibility process…
VeteranCare, a company whose network Angel Home Care Services is now a part of, will screen potential candidates for this program. The benefits can be used for home care services.
If criteria are met, the veteran, or surviving spouse can begin to receive home care services through a program provider like us, as early as the first day of the following month.
Is that simple!
CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION
Veteran must have served active duty in the U.S. military for at least 90 days. Minimum one day during a period of war.
Must have medical confirmation of need. VeteranCare will contact physician and provide form.
Must meet income, and asset criteria set by the V.A.
Must have legible copies of veteran’s honorable discharge, and separation orders.
If these documents are lost, VeteranCare will help you retrieve copies. Surviving spouses need the veteran’s paperwork, as well as copies of their marriage certificate, and the veteran’s death certificate.
The application, if the veteran is prepared takes about 40 minutes to complete.
VeteranCare will visit with the veteran to complete application and pick up documents.
This program can cut the candidate’s start of care from about 3 months post application, to in some cases, just a few days, and VeteranCare does all the paperwork.
All applications are prepared under the supervision of a Department of Veteran Affairs accredited attorney.
Once the claim application is processed the first step will be for a licensed healthcare provider like us to develop a care plan specifically tailored for you and/or your spouse.
Some of the services you’ll be eligible to receive are:
- Bathing – shower, bed, chair, tub
- Grooming & Hygiene
- Dressing/undressing
- Transferring; positioning
- Assist w/ walking & ambulation
- Assist w/ ROM exercises

Skilled services are included as well…
Again, this program will evaluate the eligibility of military Veterans and their surviving spouses for a special benefit that will (if eligible) provide them the home health care services at no out of pocket cost to them.
Angel Home Care Services (that would be us!) and VeteranCare will analyze your financial and medical situation, screen for eligibility for the pension, assist you in completing the application process, and assist you in performing all follow-up and compliance work.
All of the complicated forms and paperwork in this process is done at no cost to you and your care can begin in days, not months!
We are happy and proud to offer these services to our valued and appreciated Veterans and spouses, and hope that you will look into this high value program if you or a loved one served in the military.
If you have family, friends or neighbors in need of elderly care at home that are veterans or spouses, please let them know that care may be available to them at no cost!
If anyone you know served during a period of war or their surviving spouse and would like to see if you qualify for this benefit, please Call: 305.220.4544 or 786.303.1500, and we’ll be happy to screen you for eligibility.
